Blue Zeus

The Blue Zeus Story

Featuring the heartfelt story of the rescue of a wild mustang, "Blue Zeus" shines light on the plight of America's wild horses, exposing a flawed and corrupt government system rampant with animal abuse and paralyzing bureaucracy. Wild horse
advocate Clare Staples attempts to rescue Blue Zeus after he and his family are captured by the US government.

After 9 months, Clare is on the brink of being able to rescue him, but she must beat all odds to save him and find his family that are lost in an overcrowded system. With unparalleled access to government employees, their helicopter contractors, and a whistle-blower, the film delivers jaw-dropping journalism through an emotional and visually stunning story.

Five Things You Can Do
to Help the Wild Horses of America

Making the Film

Blue Zeus was filmed by an award-winning camera team and cut by renowned editor Chris Alstrin, resulting in a feature that explores various key players and opinions in the horse community as Clare aims to set her North Star free.

The rescue is only the beginning…

SKYDOG SANCTUARY

SKYDOG SANCTUARY is a forever home for wild mustangs and burros who have ended up in horrible and dangerous situations - at kill pens, at auctions, or in unloving homes where they have often been starved and neglected. We are also home to several wild horse families that we have reunited after being separated during roundups. SKYDOG has two locations in Malibu California as well as our 9,000-acre ranch near Bend, Oregon which is a huge piece of wild land most our mustangs call home.

SKYDOG is without a doubt the most transparent of all rescues and sanctuaries with daily updates on our horses and donkeys as well as
total transparency for our finances reflected in our platinum rating on GuideStar, our Global Federation of Sanctuaries accreditation,
and our Top Ten Non- Profits ranking.

There’s always more to the story…

A Skydog Story

Wild horses Goliath and Red Lady reunite after being separated by a BLM roundup. After being apart for six months they see each other for the first time at Skydog Sanctuary and shortly afterwards have a final foal together.

The Dodo Feature

The Dodo is an online community for anyone who loves animals, and they did great work covering the tenacity of Skydog Founder, Clare Staples, and her efforts to track down one horse’s mares and babies to reunite them, after being split up in a roundup.
